The ultrasonic composite photocatalytic water purification device "Aqua Beam®" participated in the Fisheries Agency's land-based aquaculture project. This project was conducted at a grouper land-based aquaculture facility on Izu Oshima, operated by an organization affiliated with the Fisheries Agency. It was implemented to purify the aquaculture seawater, as leftover feed and waste excreted by the grouper can lead to pollution of the seawater. The water quality purification achieved by "Aqua Beam®" was evaluated positively, noting improvements in turbidity and other parameters. The presence of various mineral components in seawater, along with the successful removal of organic substances, suggests a high potential for application in the aquaculture industry. The "Legionella bacteria" are gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria that inhabit soil and freshwater in the natural environment, possessing a single flagellum at one end of the cell body, which allows for motility. We adjusted Legionella pneumophila type 1 to 10,000 CFU/100mL and conducted a "Legionella bacteria disinfection test using Mekacera water" as experimental material. As a result, when Mekacera balls were applied in the presence of residual chlorine at concentrations of 0.1ppm to 0.2ppm, the number of Legionella bacteria gradually decreased, and no viable bacteria were detected after 24 hours.
